San Juan, PR – Jan. 25-30, 2026
We continue to work near Jayuya, Puerto Rico. This week we have a crew of all males from the United States and Canada. What a hard-working bunch they are. Tuesday the crew split between two different job sites.
They finished putting up all the exterior walls on the Baragano home and began putting on T-11 siding. Work progressed the second day as trusses were set and the siding was finished. The forms were made for the concrete porch slab. They finished blocking trusses, got the hurricane strips installed, and the roof sheeted and papered, facia put on, and all metal installed. Windows were installed and trim started.
The front wall was reinforced at the Rodriguez house, and sister rafters were placed on all existing rafters. The ridge beam was reinforced. We transported roof metal from Jayuya to Miguel house. We drilled concrete and installed anchor bolts to existing walls.
This has been a hard-working group. Almost all this group of volunteers were working with MDS in Puerto Rico last year. It was great to see their familiar faces.
