Port Charlotte, FL – March 23-29, 2025
This was our last week in Port Charlotte. There was a final push to complete all our job cards. In all 63 jobs were undertaken this season, most of them together with UMCOR. We are glad for this partnership. They vetted our clients and purchased materials. Without our volunteers, they would have only been able to complete a handful of the jobs. We always accomplish more when we work together.
Our weekly volunteer group was 10 young people from Lancaster, PA. They came with lots of energy, prepared to hone their skills.
Daniel and his crew have become window installation experts! They installed 9 windows for Ms Maria’s and caulked 21 windows at Mr. Payne’s! Then they cut sills to give them a perfect finish. In all our teams removed and installed 31 window this month.
Roger and his crew completed the drywall installation at Ms Nicole’s and began mudding. With the right technique, the results were very good!
Ginny and her team tiled and grouted a shower at Ms Dawn’s. The work was meticulous and turned out beautifully!
Chuck and his team finished all several projects: painting closets and soffits, putting down flooring, and putting up an air vent at the church, installing kitchen cupboards, cleaning floors to put a shine on the finished work! Well done crew!
Verne was out and about troubleshooting electrical issues and adding finishing touches as needed. In the end we got all our job cards signed! On Thursday Verne and Joyce attended a home dedication for Aleta Wiegand.
We are glad for the team who God brought together here in Port Charlotte. Each person had skills that were just what we needed for the work at hand. And we were blessed by each other’s company. All glory to God!
