Port Charlotte, FL – Mar. 2-8, 2025
Our new long-term team arrived on Saturday (March 1) and consists of Verne & Joyce Geissinger (PA), Roger & Anne Friesen (MB), Daniel & Pamela, Corey Wiebe (MB), and Chuck & Ginny Gibson (MI). Each member has come with a wealth of experience and the breakfast and dinner table conversation is rich with storytelling.
This week we welcomed 12 energetic young women from Lancaster County, PA, organized by Caitlyn Newswanger, and their driver, Blaine. They arrived Sunday evening, already well tanned from their time in Florida. The weather has been lovely this week, with only a little rain to slow down the work.
The teams tackled 5 jobs this week:
The Tipton home, in Fort Myers, was blessed with taping, mudding, sanding, and painting skills. Plans are to complete the painting and move on to flooring next week.
The Thigpen home, in Fort Myers, received drywall, taping/mudding and sanding readying it for painting.
The Cella home, in Port Charlotte, was also mudded, sanded, painted and trim work began.
A shingling job at FaithMission in Arcadia received the finishing Ridge Cap. With strong winds a few days this week, our team was unable to complete the roofing job.
A second roofing job, for the Redding’s in Arcadia, received new fascia and sofits. The steel roof at this location will need to wait for a calm day.
We are continually blessed by the Wintergarden Presbyterian Church leadership who support our efforts and ensure everything is running smoothly. We are grateful!
On behalf of the team,
Anne Friesen
