One of the weekly volunteers expressed what many felt last week.  What is one suggestion that would improve your MDS experience?  “Sunny weather.”  The first four days were cool, drizzly, and cloudy.  By Friday the sun broke through and everyone enjoyed sunshine and blue skies.

On Wednesday evening Ms. May, one of the homeowners, came to join us for supper.  She didn’t come empty handed and came bearing a beautiful fruit salad. She shared her experiences about the hurricane and the aftermath of dealing with unscrupulous builders.  She’s quite a bundle of energy and full of praise for God’s goodness.

Once again progress was made on the houses.  A wide variety of projects and work kept volunteers busy, no matter their skill level.  There were ceilings repaired, electrical and plumbing work done, painting, flooring, replacing windows and doors, cabinets assembled and hung, countertops installed, and trim work done.

After a hard day of work, competitiveness showed as card games and ping pong were played.  Many responded on the feedback forms that the best part of the experience was meeting new people and building relationships.
