The last week of January in Pointe-Aux-Chenes looked different than planned.  Due to snowstorms in the northern states, our family from Minnesota had flights canceled.  Our registered group from PA was on hold until they might feel safe to drive.  Corresponding this, we were informed that a group from Ohio registered to work in South Carolina was unable to go there due to a state of emergency in SC.  Our leadership quickly conferred and called Lititz to arrange for that group to come here instead.  The 6 couples from Ohio came on Sunday, and were joined by the PA group of 11 on Tuesday evening.  What a great bunch!  Energetic and hardworking, they accomplished so much!  Our cooks fed 31-35 people all week, and they crushed it.

From pylons and floor joists, the house was closed in and wrapped by Friday with X-bracing and strapping complete also.  The porch and steps are completed.  Another house received the floor decking as far as was possible, and siding for 1½  houses is ready and painted. While all of this was happening, a couple of small neighborhood projects were attended to at the owner’s requests.  It was a great week!  Our plans for next week are to complete roof, windows and siding at Roger’s house.  Because pylons are not yet in for our other two new builds, we will continue at Grace’s house in between.  We are praying pylons will be set before the week’s end so that we can start another.
