Newton, TX – RV – Oct. 13-19, 2024

Monday morning we started working on Cynthia McAllister’s home. She had just purchased the home 3 years ago and had no idea she was living in a flood area. She did not have flood insurance and had spent all she had to purchase the home. This left her in a very tough situation.

2024 had been a very tough year for her and her son Shawn who lives with her. Shawn tragically lost his 14 year old son in January and just 3 months later, when the area received 13” of rain in a 24 hour period, their home was flooded.

Shawn had started to replace the sheetrock.

Our week was spent putting up remaining sheetrock and mudding and tapping & sanding.

All but 2 rooms are ready for final sanding.

The week has been great, the crew has come together and we had a great week learning & serving together.
