Newton, TX (RV) – Jan. 18-25, 2026
This week was a continuation of working on the Wilkes home. Advances were made in finishing the drywall in both bedrooms and painting the ceiling and walls. The bathroom continued to give some challenges with the plumbing, but the plan finally worked out. The side door was leveled and reinstalled and now it can open!
We are concerned about the weather over the weekend with potential for freezing pipes, so measures were taken to protect the areas. The water will be turned off, and a water supply will be available to Perry and Tawanda for the weekend. For the crew working at the site the consensus was to work on Friday this week and take Mon. off when temps are supposed to go down to 19 degrees at night. Friday for lunch our group went to lunch at a chicken place in Kirbyville which everyone raves about.
We also will be needing to protect our RV’s and the office trailer from the cold this weekend. Ther was a plan to go to church in Jasper this weekend and to have a fellowship meal but due to the cold the luncheon was cancelled.
