As we continue the cleanup in Mayfield, KY from the tornadoes that destroyed the town Mennonite Disaster Service along with several other organization are making progress in the cleanup efforts.

Our current long-term volunteers are Laverne Geissinger, Project Director from PA, Gary Zehr, Office Manager from NY, Richard and Marj Heatwole Cooks from VA, Bill Metschulat from PA, and Nevin High from WI who are our investigators.

Our seven short term volunteers have come from four different states, VA, IN, IA, MI.

We continue to teardown homes that were damaged and are providing cleanup as the homes are removed. We have been putting the debris at the curbs and the Corp of Engineers are hauling everything to landfills. Along with cleanup we are cutting trees on client properties that were damaged.

Our cooks have been providing excellent meals and the weather has been good to us so far this week.

We thank everyone who has been involved with efforts here and thank God that he is allowing us to be the hands and feet of Jesus.  Blessings to all who have been helping.

Verne, Richard, Marg, Gary, Bill, and Nevin
