Lytton, BC – June 1-7, 2025

This week the new cook and Office Manager arrived, and we said our goodbyes to Judy who had been at the project as cook for the past month.

Work on the home is progressing on schedule. Our focus has been on finishing touches to the siding and trim to finish the house exterior. Drywalling took place on Wednesday and taping started on Thursday. By next week, the taping should be completed, and the crew can start the painting process.

The homeowner has decided to build their own casing for the windows, doors and baseboard. They purchased raw cut lumber and are planing, jointing and cutting to size all the pieces needed. It’s a lot of work but since Nikiah has an interest in woodworking, he wants to contribute this personal touch to their home. This week, the scholarship students enjoyed learning new skills including safety using nail guns! Fun times.
