Liberty, TX – RV – March 23-29, 2025
We are ending our time in southeast Texas with mixed emotions. It is always hard to leave a community and the new friends we’ve made by living and working together during the past few months. On the other hand, many of us are anxious to get back home and see our loved ones.
Work was finished on Wanda’s house early in the week. Ray, Pete and Darlene finished installing the countertop and Jim and Eleanor removed an existing vanity and installed a new vanity and faucet in the bathroom. Wanda was absolutely thrilled!
We also finished up at Nicole’s this week. Jonathan and Wilma installed a new bathroom vanity and finished up bathroom renovations. Peggy and Rosie finished interior painting. Cleaning and paint touch-ups were also finished.
We had Nicole’s house blessing on Wednesday, where she was presented with a wall hanging made by Mennonite Women USA. This one came from Filer Mennonite in Filer, Idaho. We also presented Nicole with a Bible that we all signed with messages of faith and encouragement.
It is a privilege to repair, restore, or rebuild homes on an MDS project so homeowners can get back to living a normal life. More often we see renewed hope and faith in the homeowners, which gives us great joy. We witnessed this again this year and thank God each day for this opportunity to serve.
