Liberty, TX – RV – March 16-22, 2025
Our third week here in southeast Texas was very productive. At Nicole’s house Peggy, Eleanor and Wilma finished painting walls and doors. Renovations began on the bathroom by Jonathan, Wilma, Rosie and Don. Rosie, Don and Jonathan installed and mudded dry wall, Eleanor sanded and painted, and Jonathan and Wilma began installing flooring. Jim worked on plumbing the drain and supply lines. Since the work is close to being finished, Peggy, Eleanor, Wilma and Rosie began cleaning.
Much work was also accomplished at Wanda’s house this week, where Ray, Darlene and Pete worked. They removed the existing cabinets in the kitchen, installed a subfloor, installed new base cabinets (made by MDS) installed new flooring, removed, cut and reinstalled the rear door, and trimmed around the flooring.
Since this was our last weekend together, we enjoyed quite a few social activities. Thursday evening some of us went to a pancake supper at the Methodist Church in Dayton, sponsored by the local Lion’s Club. It is always fun taking advantage of local events and meeting new people from the area. On Friday night we enjoyed celebrating Ray and Peggy’s birthdays as we had a barbecue potluck. Some of the guys grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and we all contributed side dishes to the meal. Of course, we finished off the evening with birthday cake, candles and singing!
Finally, on our last Sunday, we attended Line Camp Cowboy Church about 35 minutes from our campground. It was stompin’ fun! We then had lunch together at My Little Kitchen in Liberty. A great end to a great weekend.
