Liberty, TX – RV – Feb. 9-15, 2025

We had a fairly warm week with several severe thunderstorms here in southeast Texas, but good progress was still completed on Jose’s house.   In the beginning of the week Tye, Ray and Darlene finished drywall installation as Jonathan, Wilma and Eleanor continued mudding and sanding.  Jim and Ray started installing interior doors and Nancy and Peggy worked on painting baseboards.

As the week continued, Wilma and Jonathan began applying stipple, Nancy, Tye and Peggy primed and painted some walls and Peggy and Darlene painted doors and trim. Eleanor began cleaning and getting floors ready for the new flooring.

In addition to the work on Jose’s house, Pete, Ray and Darlene stayed back at the campground on Wednesday to help install our new washer and dryer.  Several accommodations had to be made, but now we are thankful to have a working washer and dryer available for the team.

As a team building outing the team traveled to Anuhuac National Wildlife Refuge where alligators outnumber humans! It is also one of the foremost birding locations in the US with a butterfly house as well.  Unfortunately, the weather was relatively cold and cloudy, so the alligators and butterflies didn’t appear, but it was still an enjoyable day.

On Sunday we attended a service at the Cowboy Church on the Rock in Beaumont and then enjoyed a delicious lunch at Golden Corral.
