Verne Geissinger, Joyce Geissinger, Larry Loganbill, Karen Loganbill, Galen Waltner and Kathy Waltner joined Don Rheinheimer, Elvin Shenk and Jonelle Shenk on Monday January 5 at the Lahaina MDS camp site. Jonelle had a reviving meal for us, as most of us had not eaten a good meal all day.

Three Rosedale Bible College students, Aiden Miller, Dallas Yoder and Karl Coblentz joined the group Tuesday, January 6.

The leadership team spent the week becoming acquainted with the Lahaina MDS project procedures and the recovery partners, including Ho’ola IA Mauiakama Long Term Recovery Group and Cajudoy Construction.

More work was completed at the camp site, including building nightstands and sawhorses, analyzing floor and truss plans, setting up storage shelves, cleaning up the grounds by trimming grass and weeds and removing construction trash.  Waste disposal and recycling procedures were established.

The group also worked 36 hours on Clint Kahahane’s house and 3 hours on Blas and Jelyn Yadao’s house.

We found Hawaii to be quite beautiful.  Many enjoyed snorkeling.  Dallas Yoder captured a wonderful picture of a turtle that swam right up to him. The weekend gave an opportunity for some site seeing.  Larry, Karen, and the Rosedale students (Aiden, Dallas, and Karl) went to Haleakala National Park.
