Ironton, LA – Feb. 22-28, 2026

The weekly volunteers were:  Brian, Jolene, Lester, Jordan, Cheryl, Sarah, Rachel, Bernell, Lowell and Elizabeth – all from Pennsylvania.  The leadership team was unchanged from the previous two weeks.

This was the youngest group of volunteers to serve at Ironton so far this year.  Yet I was incredibly impressed with the skill level and positive work ethic exhibited by each person in the group.  I have not often seen such a high caliber of individuals at home in my non-anabaptist world in western Alberta, Canada.

All three houses are closed in.  The houses passed the initial inspections. Insulation and drywall installation is complete on two and soon will be complete on the third.  Mudding and taping of the drywall is well underway.

On Thursday one of the clients, Ms. Zandra, joined us for the evening meal and shared her story around the loss of her home to Hurricane Ida.  Most of her audience was spellbound.
