Ironton, LA – Feb. 15-21, 2026
The weekly volunteers were: Earl, David, Kevin, Russell, Susan, Kara, Rosanna, Lillian, Loretta, Edna, Jason, Alvin, John, Michael. They departed for their respective homes in Pennsylvania and New York at the end of the week after completing a substantial amount of work.
The leadership team was unchanged from the previous two weeks.
Two homes are now closed in and the third is well on its way. Insulation was installed in one house. Decking is completed on two. Roofing is complete on two. The interior work can now begin.
The weather has been quite pleasant – even hot on several days. Most of the ladies were determined to go home with a tan, however, they departed more pink than tan. They all had so much energy. They worked hard all day and still had the reserves to play volleyball into the evening.
On Saturday, after the weekly volunteers had gone, the Project Director, Office Manager and the three Crew Leaders took a two-hour drive to Grand Isle State Park for some-well deserved Vitamin D therapy. The three Crew Leaders – Jay, Jason and Luke – charged in and let the waves crash over their bodies for the better part of an hour. The waves were often over their heads.
