  1. How many volunteers were at the project site this week? Where did they come from?

8, PA, NC, IA

  1. Describe briefly the work done and the accomplishments for each job worked on.

Concrete pads were poured at Harry Davis house.  An access door was built and installed for his basement.  At Donna Madove’s house, the women completed two coats of taping and sanding on the living room ceiling.  The weather held long enough for us to have a couple of evening campfires.  Everyone cooked their own meal and shared in the fellowship.  The Sandersons and Hochstedlers took a weekend trip to Stowe to ride the Sky Ride gondola up the mountain.  The sad part of our week was the determination to close down the camp early due to lack of work and shortage of volunteers for August and September.

  1. What were the highlights of the week?

Harry, who is 81, helped with the concrete work and really enjoyed being part of the team.  Pam Haskin has been treating him to home baked goods every Monday, which he shares with his wife who is in a nursing home.

  1. What are your plans for the upcoming week?

We hope to complete the work at Harry’s house and will paint the room at Donna’s house.  Steve and Pam Haskin will be heading home on Saturday.  Sandersons, Hochstedlers and Annette will continue a bit longer working with the traditional group in Barre.
