Our crew from last week were all replaced with people from Ontario. Our new crew was small, only 3 additions, but a lot was accomplished.

We completed the painting and caulking.  All the doors were installed along with the trim. The window trim was also completed, and all the nail holes were patched and everything looks great. The flooring got delivered and the kitchen arrived, so we had lots to do. By the end of the week the kitchen cabinets were in, and the flooring is almost complete. The electricians were over to connect the heat pump, switches, plugs, and lights. They informed us that we needed a new hydro pole which would carry the 200amp service to the house, pray that this will happen before the home dedication! Dwayne and Shawna came over for supper this week to share some stories with us.

This was an interesting week for our cook as we needed to clean out all MDS supplies from the kitchen and public area. This did not hamper the cook from preparing great food again this week, thanks! The Birchtown Community Center was having a community fundraising breakfast here, so we needed to clear out! No problem! We got it all done and the fundraiser breakfast was a success!

In case you’re in the area, the home dedication is planned for Oct. 23 at 11am.

This week we ended our work day on Friday a bit earlier so we could visit the Black Loyalist Museum. Those of us who were here on Saturday had the pleasure of watching the pumpkin boat race in Shelburne (if you’re interested, check it out on Youtube).
