We had a great group from across the country this week with representation from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Nova Scotia, and we all speak the same language – ‘responding to disaster’!

Dwayne’s home is nearing completion, installing the last bit of flooring, finish installing the kitchen cabinets. Baseboards were started and finished in short order and wire shelving was installed. Inside door handles have not arrived yet so there’s a few finishing touches left for next week.

The house project is going along so well that we were able to take on a few other little projects. One of those is at Terry’s home. He needs a little roofing leak repair and siding completed. We were able to start his project. Another small project is at Judith’s home where we’ll do a small repair and some drywall. These projects should both be completed before we close this project site. The community center we’re staying at also would like some little repairs so we’re able to complete a few things for them.

Hank and Barb, who are the hosts at Birchtown Community Hall (where we’re staying), joined us for our Wednesday evening meal. They are a delight to visit with. Hank enjoys baking and will be making our home dedication celebration cake!

We joined the New Hope Wesleyan Church on Sunday, a lively group who enjoy singing! In our interaction with them we were able to share our prayer concern for a new hydro pole for Dwayne’s home. After the service we were invited to join them at Mr. Fish for a great meal of fishy type food! Well recommended.
