This week was a mix of usual and unusual events.  Our leadership team was down by 2 as our co-project directors were traveling this week.  Many thanks to Ryan, our construction supervisor, and Rex, one of our crew leaders for keeping us on track until our project directors returned.

We were joined by 12 weekly volunteers.  A group of 8 young women came to us from the region of East Earl, Pennsylvania and a group of 4 men came from the vicinity of Denver, Pennsylvania.  The work this week consisted of constructing stairs, building walls and ceilings, replacing windows, doors, trim, installing insulation and drywall, mudding and painting.

We had a visitor join us for supper on Tuesday.  He is Stan Grossfeld, a Pulitzer Prize winning photographer from the Boston Globe.  He spent the day photographing and interviewing one of our crews for a feature article to be published in the newspaper.

We said goodbye to our crew leaders Bill and Nevin and welcomed their replacements, Ginny and Chuck from Iron Mountain, Michigan.

Reporting from all of us at Barre, office manager Kent.
