Adams Lake, BC – May 4-10, 2025
Week two was fully focused on framing Heather’s house and, by Friday, all the walls were up. Rather than start trusses on Friday we started drywall at David and Tammy’s. I was trusted to take photos for the foundation inspection on Tuesday. This allowed us to backfill on Wednesday. Ken Bergen showed up on Wednesday so, we started siding at David and Tammy’s on Thursday. We took all the volunteers to the mouth of the Adams River for supper. It is the source of one of the largest fall salmon runs. Wes calls it his second office because of the good fly fishing. Florence and I have realized that our estimate of 8-10 at the supper table has shifted to 12-15. This has allowed us to do more than double the work we expected to do at David and Tammy’s. We invited the couple for dinner this week. David is an executive chef. Florence and Sheryl were not intimidated — well mostly not. Heather brought a bouquet of roses on Saturday for Mother’s Day, acknowledging the women on site who had been stay at home moms. It was very well received.
