Adams Lake, BC – April 23-25, 2025
Week one was setup, and it brought its challenges. Our newly designed outdoor shower brought many squeals because it quickly became too cold or too hot. Reg came to the rescue and now all is well. Our new mobile kitchen also came with its surprises and, after some frustration and using RV freezers, we now have a new freezer, and the cooks are at peace again. The onsite camp means the cooks answer the call for breakfast, coffee, lunch, coffee and supper. The benefit is that Florence and Sheryl can watch the full process of the house build, which cooks usually miss. Heather gave us a huge cowbell for the cooks’ use. We don’t dare be late for lunch. The six-site RV camp was already too small, and several volunteers have slept in vans or dry camped. Our dining hall tent is working well as long as we use heaters to take the chill off in the mornings. Spring showers are a welcome sound on the canvas roof. Susan and Peter’s RV serves as the site office.
