In the small town of Mayfield, Kentucky, the EF4 tornado leveled buildings and homes beyond repair.

Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) Early Response Teams are on the ground in Kentucky and Tennessee assessing the damage from a string of deadly tornadoes which struck last weekend. Initial assessment from our Early Response Teams is that many of the homes are too damaged to even consider repairing.

Many of our partners via the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD), which specialize in search and rescue, damage assessment and cleanup, are also responding.

Together with our NVOAD partners and local officials, we will determine when and where volunteers will be needed most. If you are interested in being added to a volunteer waitlist, please fill out this form.

We extend our condolences to those who have lost loved ones and we offer prayers of support for the survivors who have lost so much in the storms.

Thanks to so many who have sent donations to help us respond. If you wish to donate to the MDS response, you may do so on our website.  Please click button below. MDS only accepts monetary donations. We are unable to accept clothing, food, water or other material aid.

We will continue to provide updated information as it becomes available.
