“We are fortunate and blessed, and can give back to help others,” says Jeanne Wollf of Hague, Saskatchewan about why she and her husband, Dave, serve with Mennonite Disaster Service.

Now in their late fifties, the couple has more time to do service with MDS. But they went even when their kids were younger, taking them to the project sites.

It was a chance for them to “not just think about themselves,” she says, adding “we wanted to be good example for them” about serving others.

They also like how service with MDS gives them a chance to meet others from across North America who are also motivated to help people in need.

“We’ll do more MDS,” she says.
