What Happened
In the spring of 2022, a tremendous amount of rain weakened the structure of a family home in Libau, MB. The roof collapsed, and the dwelling was condemned as unlivable. Significant health challenges made repair impossible for the family to do on their own.
What MDS Is Doing
The Mennonite Disaster Service Manitoba Unit is working to build a new home for the family in Libau, MB.

Location
Libau is a small rural community situated on the eastern edge of the Red River Estuary, just north of Selkirk. The marshes close to Libau are known as the Netley-Libau Marsh and is known for its tremendous concentrations of southward migrating birds.
