Hurricanes

This is an Amish Project led by ACTS/ ADS.

What Happened

In September 2024, Hurricane Helene moved inland and caused severe flooding across East Tennessee, including the Cosby area. Torrential rainfall led to swollen rivers and flash floods that damaged homes, roads, and bridges throughout the community. Many residents were forced to evacuate as floodwaters rose quickly, leaving behind significant destruction. The storm disrupted daily life for weeks and created long-term recovery needs for families whose homes were damaged or destroyed.
