Floods
What Happened
In May 2023 heavy rainfall caused flooding on the Ottawa River, leaving many homes in the area flooded. This area also experienced flooding in 2017 and 2019.
What MDS Is Doing
MDS is responding to this disaster and building a new home near Ottawa.
Volunteers will be working as a crew at the different stages of construction to build this home.
The work is slated to start mid-February and go through April.

Location
Constance Bay is located in the rural area northwest of the city of Ottawa and is on a peninsula between Constance and Buckham’s Bay on the Ottawa River. It is surrounded by the Torbolton Forest, a managed greenspace.
