Hurricanes

This is an Amish Project led by Storm Aid.

What Happened

In September 2024, Hurricane Helene impacted Black Mountain and the surrounding mountainous region. Heavy rainfall and strong winds caused flash flooding, landslides, and downed trees, resulting in damage to homes, roads, and utility infrastructure. Many residents were left with unsafe living conditions and ongoing housing needs, as the storm’s effects disrupted daily life and required long-term recovery efforts.
