Augusta, GA

Hurricanes

This is an Amish Project led by DOA.

What Happened

In September 2024, Hurricane Helene caused widespread damage across Augusta and the surrounding region. Heavy rain and strong winds led to flooding, downed trees, power outages, and significant damage to homes, particularly in low-lying and underserved neighborhoods. Many residents were left with unsafe living conditions and limited resources for recovery, creating long-term housing needs that continue well beyond the storm’s immediate aftermath.

What MDS Is Doing

MDS work will focus on home repairs and roofing.
