Adams Lake, BC – June 1-7, 2025

Volunteers on site this week included homeowner, Heather, and her son Darian. Ken, from Okotoks, Alberta, completed the siding and traveled home on Tuesday.  One day volunteer joined us this week: Keith from Chase. Florence and Sheryl continued to provide us with amazing meals, coffee breaks and picnics! Reg kept the camp running. Ivan and Cheryl from Linden, Manitoba, continued as Project Director and Office Manager. Jim and Laurie Bos arrived for their first week on the project. A total of eleven volunteers this week.

As we have time, we have been volunteering labour at neighbours’ David and Tammy’s. This week the IKEA cabinets were assembled, finish work completed and flooring installed.

Heather’s house has had the taping and mudding completed. Finish boards have been painted. Now we’re ready to prime and paint.

A highlight was having the siding completed; however, with that meant another farewell. We roasted and toasted Ken and sent him on his way. He is missed already!

It’s also a highlight to have local massage therapist, Lynn, join us each Wednesday evening for supper; she provides five 10-minute massages to volunteers after the meal. This Wednesday, we celebrated her birthday, and the other June birthdays: Reg’s, Sheryl’s and Cheryl’s with a lovely chocolate cake.
