Liberty, TX – RV – Mar. 2-8, 2025
The weather here in southeast Texas was very cooperative this week with warm temperatures and blue skies as we finished up Jose’s home. Ray, Don and Jonathan finished installing the baseboard and window trim; Jim worked on piping the water heater; Eleanor finished the caulking and Wilma, Rosie, Peggy, Darlene and Eleanor finished cleaning all the windows and floors. Everything looked spic and span!
We held Jose’s house blessing on Thursday which is always a wonderful event. Jose and his mother were there as well as our new client, Nicole, who lives in the same area. Jose and his mother were presented with a beautiful wall hanging and a devotional that the whole team signed with messages of inspiration for Jose. After the house blessing we all went to Nicole’s and had pizza for lunch. Nicole informed us that the Pizza Hut in the area gives out free pizza for volunteers, so she ordered it and picked it up for us for lunch. We truly enjoyed that delicious treat!
As we began work at Nicole’s house this week, Ray, Jonathan, Pete, Peggy, Rosie and Don installed insulation and drywall. Jonathan, Jim and Ray worked on floor framing repair. Eleanor, Peggy and Wilma worked on drywall prep. Rosie and Don installed some interior doors and Jonathan, Ray and Jim installed floor joist and sub floor where needed. It was a wonderfully productive week!
We had fun at our weekly game night on Saturday. On Sunday we attended church at Old River Baptist Church a few miles from our campground and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Tony’s BBQ and Steakhouse.
