This was a week of surprises!  We have had unseasonably cold weather for January in Texas – or, at least, most of us thought it would be warmer than it has been!  However, the snow on Tuesday morning was a real surprise.  We decided to go ahead and work since there was plenty of inside work available.  A real plus was that the roads had very few motorists and Lowe’s had only a few customers, so it was an easy commute to the jobsites and no waiting in long lines at Lowe’s!

The crew (Jean, Lori, Vernon and Dave) at the Diggles home continued installing flooring and hanging doors.  They painted and installed trim, and installed kitchen countertops and sink, bathroom vanities and light fixtures.  This home has made significant changes in the last month!

At the Minnix home, the crew (Ed, Tom, Doug and Duane) installed kitchen cabinets and sink, bathroom vanity, and flooring.  The homeowner has joined the crew throughout the week to help with the flooring installation.  The guys took all the doors off the cabinets so that she can apply the finish over the weekend.  She is very excited about the progress – we hope to have the house blessing within the next two weeks.

Thursday evening, we gathered for a potluck dinner, and we did play a new game!   Everyone is excited to go out to the job sites, but the weekends are always a welcome break!  Our goal continues – seeing people return to their homes!
