Newton, TX – RV – Nov. 17-23, 2024

So much was accomplished this week. We were down one couple but the remaining worked so hard. Team building continued with a game night and our weekly potluck, where we played Two Truths and a Lie. It was fun to get to know our fellow volunteers.

At Mary’s house, an A/C unit was installed, drywall was hung and mudded, trenching for water and electricity was completed. Plumbing was installed in the bathroom/laundry room and kitchen. The water heater was installed, and the water supply was hooked up. A fan was installed in the bedroom. Mudding continued, drywall was installed in the bathroom/laundry room.

At the Diggles home, the bathroom floor was replaced, and walls were framed for the water heater and for the tub in the bathroom. Hanging drywall and mudding continued throughout the week.

At the McAllister home, the crew is finishing up and getting ready to give the home back to the owner. Each of the members over the weeks we have been there have ministered to the family, and there seems to be a lot more hope for the family.

Several of the team members went to Jennings, LA for the Thanksgiving luncheon at the Church of Christ, which they attended when they were working in Welsh last spring. The church hosted the traditional project for several years and served many Wednesday night meals to both the traditional and RV project. They were warmly welcomed “home.”
